Local journalists demanding fair pay in downtown Roanoke
Journalists with the Roanoke Times attended Monday’s protest
ROANOKE, Va. – Local journalists are calling for change as they walk a picket line in downtown Roanoke Monday.
The Timesland News Guild, which represents journalists at the Roanoke Times and Laker Weekly, is sending a message to corporate negotiators.
They say low pay and benefits make it harder for people to stay in the industry.

We’re told newsroom representatives prepare to return to the bargaining table next week.
