Celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Taubman Museum of Art

You and your family can watch dragon dances, martial arts performances, singing and more

ROANOKE, Va. – Celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rabbit at the Taubman Museum of Art.

From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, you and your family can watch dragon dances, martial arts performances, singing and more. You can also learn about cultural traditions and customs from Asia.

Lisa Spencer, the executive director of Local Colors, says, “It is really important to highlight this celebration in our area and learn more about our neighbors.”

She added, “I love watching the performances and you will see a range of ages performing.”

Your family can also make rabbit-themed artwork and crafts.

No registration is necessary and the event is completely free.
