Lynchburg Fire Department announced the leak has been contained, as of 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Traffic may continue to be restricted in the area.

Drivers are asked to avoid the 3200 block of Cranehill Drive as the Lynchburg Fire Department responds to a gas leak.
According to a Facebook post from the department, as of 10:45 a.m., Columbia Gas arrived on the scene and began efforts to contain the leak. Authorities have blocked Cranehill Drive, and traffic is being redirected.
At this time, nearby homes are being evacuated.
Officials advise drivers to seek alternate routes while the situation is addressed. The fire department continues to monitor the incident closely to ensure public safety.
