ROANOKE, Va. UPDATE

Power has been restored to most Appalachian Power customers in the Roanoke area after sporadic outages Monday night amid high winds.

ORIGINAL STORY

As of 10:20 p.m. Monday night, there are 3,300 outages with 2300 people in the dark in Roanoke County and almost a thousand without power in Northwest Roanoke. According to AEP, the estimated restoration time is Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m., and the outage is being assessed at this time.
