Police respond to stabbing at Dollar General in Pearisburg The incident happened on Tuesday evening on Wenonah Avenue

The Pearisburg Police Department responded to a stabbing at the Dollar General on Tuesday evening.
According to police, shortly after 8 p.m., two men got into an altercation in the 900 block of Wenonah Avenue, leading to one of them being stabbed. The victim managed to drive himself to Giles Community Hospital before being flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for surgery.
Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the community.
