Torrential rainfall has left at least 34 people dead in Pakistan and India and triggered flash floods and landslides in Indian-controlled Kashmir.

India’s missile and bomb strikes on targets in Pakistan and Pakistani-controlled Kashmir have prompted multiple attacks in retaliation between the nuclear-armed neighbors to the point that some are now calling it a de facto war.

India fired missiles into Pakistani-controlled territory early Wednesday, calling it retaliation for last month’s massacre of tourists in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir.
