Harvey Weinstein will face a sentence of up to 29 years in prison thanks, in part, to the testimony of Miriam Haley. Haley told "CBS This Morning" she was relieved by the guilty verdict. Until the verdict was announced, Haley said she didn't know if Weinstein would be convicted. I don't know," Allred said. (Reuters) - The jury in Harvey Weinsteins sexual assault trial in New York said on Friday they were deadlocked on the most serious criminal charges and suggested they were unanimous on the others leveled against the former Hollywood mogul. Conviction on the predatory assault charges, which carry a potential life sentence, would indicate that Weinstein is a repeat sexual offender. That accusation is too old to be charged as a separate crime, but was introduced by prosecutors as an aggravating factor for the charges of predatory sexual assault on which the jury suggested it may be deadlocked. Jurors can convict Weinstein of predatory sexual assault if they find that he committed the assault against Sciorra and at least one of the alleged crimes against Haleyi or Mann. Another legal expert, defense attorney Julie Rendelman, said the jurors might be confused by the complexity of the predatory sexual assault charge.

feeds.reuters.comAbout the 'Sopranos' actress who may testify against Harvey Weinstein
Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to five sexual assault charges, and his attorneys have argued the encounters were consensual. Why Sciorra's testimony mattersThat alleged attack is outside of the statute of limitations for sexual assault, and Weinstein is not directly charged with the encounter. If she does testify, Sciorra would not be the only witness to speak about alleged assaults. The sexual assault charges against Weinstein relate to two women -- one on July 10, 2006, and another on March 18, 2013. But the three additional witnesses would testify about other uncharged acts as prosecutors try to show Weinstein had a similar pattern of behavior.
Harvey Weinstein pleads not guilty to new charges
Weinstein is facing rape and sexual assault charges from two separate incidents. (CNN) - Harvey Weinstein pleaded not guilty to two new predatory sexual assault charges in a Manhattan criminal court on Monday. While these are two new charges, prosecutors said that if the judge finds them duplicative of the existing predatory sexual assault charges, then they would want to move forward on the new charges. That would effectively swap out the old predatory sexual assault charges for the new ones. To be found guilty of predatory sexual assault, prosecutors will have to prove Weinstein sexually assaulted more than one victim.
'Sopranos' actress may testify in Harvey Weinstein trial, source says
NEW YORK (CNN) - An actress whom Manhattan prosecutors have described as key witness in the Harvey Weinstein sex-crimes trial may have the chance to testify, a source told CNN Thursday. The indictment, which was returned by a grand jury, has not been publicly disclosed. But prosecutors have been jockeying for months to get the actress' account into the trial to support charges of predatory sexual assault against Weinstein. The defense sought to preclude her from testifying, saying it effectively charged him with a new crime that was never presented to the grand jury. In response to the ruling, Manhattan prosecutors convened another grand jury this month resulting in the latest indictment, which will be unsealed Monday.
