Former DNC chair says Harris 'will not be replaced' on 2024 ticket, will be Dem nominee if Biden does not run
Former DNC Chair Donna Brazile is certain that Harris will not be replaced on the 2024 ticket, and may even make a bid for the presidency herself if Biden does not seek re-election.
foxnews.comFox News and Donna Brazile Quietly Part Ways
Chip SomodevillaFox News and Donna Brazile have quietly parted ways after she spent more than two years with the network as an on-air political analyst, the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman confirmed Friday.โWhen my contract expired, they offered me an additional 2-4 years,โ Brazile told The Daily Beast in a text message. โBut I decided to return to ABC.โBrazile went on to add that over the past two years, Fox News had allowed her to make multiple appearances on ABC Newsโ Sunday news show This Week, adding that โall is goodโ between her and Fox.The liberal pundit recently made her debut as an ABC contributor on this past Sundayโs broadcast of This Week. The longtime Democratic strategist raised eyebrows in March 2019 when she announced she had signed with the decidedly right-leaning outlet, largely due to the fact that Fox News opinion commentators had previously made her a bogeywoman for her controversial tenure at CNN.A 2016 WikiLeaks email revealed that Brazile, then a CNN contributor, leaked debate questions to then-candidate Hillary Clintonโs campaign. Following the release of the hacked emails, CNN severed ties with Brazile. The Democratic operative, meanwhile, defended her decision to join Fox News. At the time, she acknowledged she would get โcriticized by my friends in the progressive movementโ but said the 2016 election โshowed we have to engage that audience and show Americans of every stripe what we stand for rather than retreat into our โsafe spaces.โโ She also contended that she had all her โmarblesโ when she decided to join Fox.It wasnโt just progressives, though, that criticized Brazileโs presence on Fox News. The networkโs most devoted and powerful viewer repeatedly made his displeasure known that the ex-DNC chief was appearing on his television set. โSo @donnabrazile gives Crooked Hillary the Questions, and now sheโs on @FoxNews,โ then-President Donald Trump tweeted in August 2019, one of his many complaints about Brazile after she joined the network.Brazileโs time at Fox was also marked by several heated and tense on-air moments, most notably when she lashed out at Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for weighing in on the 2020 Democratic primary. โStay the hell out of our race!โ Brazile shouted, adding: โSo, Ronna, go to hell!โThe prominent Democratโs departure is one of several recent, high-profile exits from the network, including Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Jedediah Bila and White House correspondent Kristin Fisher, who recently jumped to Brazileโs old home of CNN.Brazile leaving Fox News also gives the network one less liberal pundit to fill Juan Williamsโ now-open slot on the opinion roundtable show The Five. After Williamsโ sudden exit from the showโwhich Fox News insiders blamed on co-host Greg GutfeldโFox News said it would try out a rotating series of liberal commentators to take his place.Read more at The Daily Beast.Got a tip? (AP Photo/Alex Brandon)WASHINGTON โ The end of former President Donald Trumpโs impeachment trial opens a new chapter for his successor in the White House. Whether the seven GOP votes against Trump offered Biden any new hope for bipartisan cooperation within Congress remained an open question. Democrats have a decision to make in how to deal with Trump going forward. โI donโt think Donald Trump is going to disappear from anyoneโs lips any day soon, and thatโs because Donald Trump will always seek to find ways to inject himself and serve himself,โ she said.
Kushner says Black people must 'want to be successful'
WASHINGTON โ Presidential adviser Jared Kushner said Monday that President Donald Trump wants to help Black people in America, but they have to โwant to be successful" for his policies to work. She said they were trying to distract from Trump's โundeniable record of accomplishmentโ for Black people. Smith, who is Black, tweeted a photo of himself with Kushner and Vice President Mike Pence. Smith said Kushner has been โa huge advocate" for the issues that affect Black America, and named criminal justice reform, opportunity zones, trade and jobs. Trump, who has been trying to appeal to the Black community, has been promoting his attempts to set up economic opportunity zones, provide steady funding for historically Black colleges and universities, and institute criminal justice reforms.
Biden under pressure to unveil list of potential court picks
ATLANTA โ Joe Biden is resisting calls from President Donald Trump and even some fellow Democrats to release his list of potential Supreme Court picks seven months after he pledged to name the first Black female justice. A Supreme Court nomination is certain to amplify those dynamics. Heโs since nominated Justices Neil Gorsuch, who appeared on a preelection list in 2016, and Brett Kavanaugh, who appeared on a post-election list. There is some irony in Supreme Court politics being such a potentially prominent variable in Bidenโs presidential hopes. Even a 5-4 Supreme Court majority deciding the 2000 presidential election in favor of Republican George W. Bush over Democrat Al Gore did little to shift campaign dynamics concerning the court.
Harris' mostly virtual campaign to get Wisconsin road test

On Monday, Sept. 7, Harris will travel to Milwaukee, her first traditional campaign trip. Three weeks after joining Joe Biden as the Democratic vice presidential nominee, the California senator is still campaigning largely in front of a computer screen to relatively small audiences. On Monday, Harris will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on her first traditional campaign trip. He said he expects there will be opportunities for Harris to get out in swing states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida and Georgia.
Harris bringing energy, dollars and more to Biden's campaign
In her first two days as Joe Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris has fired off the campaign's sharpest criticism of President Donald Trump's shortcomings. And Harris herself was a critic of Bidens record on race, notably assailing him during a primary debate for previously opposing federally mandated busing. But Harris signaled Wednesday that shell offer a strong defense of Bidens record on race. Harris is already delivering for the campaign in a tangible way: With a record-breaking fundraising haul. Through her nearly two decades in California politics, Harris built a network of deep-pocketed donors in Hollywood and the state's legal circles.
Coronavirus upends conventions, changes TV coverage
LOS ANGELES The Democratic and Republican conventions will lack for crowds but not television coverage. The Democratic meeting will be virtual, with Biden planning to make his acceptance speech from Wilmington, Delaware. Broadcast networks ABC, CBS and NBC plan an hour of nightly coverage of the conventions at 10 p.m. EDT. CNN's commentators for the Democratic meeting include Van Jones, Jennifer Granholm, Andrew Yang, and Scott Jennings. Commentary for the Republican convention will be handled by Rick Santorum, David Urban, Amanda Carpenter and Granholm.
Kamala Harris' selection as VP resonates with Black women
Black women in particular helped rescue Biden's campaign earlier this year by delivering a resounding victory in the South Carolina primary, powering him to the Democratic nomination. That will hinge on Black voters in battleground states like Michigan to turn out in force in November. But for Black women, the freedom to vote didnt come until much later, part of a historical pattern of being denied justice offered to others. It took an additional 45 years of organizing to secure the rights to vote for Black women and other women of color, Ufot said. It affirms Black women and all we did for this country.
No hoopla: Virus upends Trump, Biden convention plans
Ill probably do mine live from the White House, Trump said, but he also said it was not locked in. If I use the White House, we save tremendous amounts of money for the government in terms of security, traveling," he said. Biden has been on the convention stage twice as the vice presidential nominee for Barack Obama. Those kinds of effects and approaches could be repeated even without a traditional convention stage in an arena or stadium. Four years later, he walked out to a full outdoor stadium a remarkable scene in the annals of presidential conventions in Denver.

Smile more? Some critics see sexism in debate over Biden VP
Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden gestures while referencing President Donald Trump at a campaign event at the William "Hicks" Anderson Community Center in Wilmington, Del., Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Instead, the vice presidential vetting has resurfaced internal party divisions between the old-guard establishment and a younger generation that's more attuned to gender and racial biases and willing to speak out. Some contend it's just more evidence of why Biden needs a woman on his ticket. Were going crazy.Politico recently reported that former Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd, the co-chair of Biden's vetting committee, was concerned that Harris, a former presidential candidate, was not sufficiently regretful about attacking Biden during a primary debate. They note that Biden himself is a former vice president with enough ambition to fuel what is his third run for president and say no one would criticize Republican Vice President Mike Pence for eyeing the top job.

Kamala Harris, D-Calif., speaks at an SEIU event before the 2019 California Democratic Party State Organizing Convention in San Francisco. Some contend it's just more evidence of why Biden needs a woman on his ticket. On Monday, Ed Rendell, a former Democratic Party chairman and a Biden ally, was quoted in The Washington Post noting that there has been recent buzz about former national security adviser Susan Rice. Carr compared them, without naming names, to dinosaurs in extinction. She urged the Biden campaign to wrap the process up soon.
