The Wildlife Center of Virginia announced Wednesday that they had released three Black Bear yearlings after a year of care at the wildlife center.

An orphaned bear cub rescued from a brush fire in Wythe County almost a year ago is now thriving at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Known as Double Green, he is the leader of the seven bears currently being cared for at the center.

Ten months have passed since an orphaned bear cub, now affectionately known as “Double Green,” was rescued from a brush fire in Wythe County. Today, he stands as the leader among six other black bears at the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
