Eva Green said in a British court Monday that she grew disillusioned with a film project because it was becoming a “B movie” that could ruin her career. Production company White Lantern Film is countersuing, claiming Green made “excessive creative and financial” demands and undermined the production. Green, who played Vesper Lynd in James Bond thriller “Casino Royale,” said she “fell in love” with the script for “A Patriot” and its environmental message, but became increasingly concerned as producers moved production from Ireland to England and cut other corners.

A lawyer for Eva Green has accused producers of a collapsed film of trying to damage the performer’s reputation by depicting her as a “diva.”.

Penguin Young Readers announced Tuesday that “The Desolations of Devil's Acre” will come out Feb. 23, again featuring young Jacob Portman and the pipe-smoking headmistress Alma LeFay Peregrine. “'The Desolations of Devil’s Acre' was many years in the making,” Riggs said in a statement about his sixth Peregrine novel. “I spent a decade in this world, building and tending to these characters, and it’s a bittersweet thing to finally bid them goodbye. The first book, “Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,” was adapted by director Tim Burton into a 2016 feature film starring Eva Green, Samuel L. Jackson and Asa Butterfield, among others.
