Grizzly bears have been protected as a threatened species in the contiguous U.S. since 1975, allowing a slow recovery in a handful of areas.

A Utah 14-year-old girl was killed when a rockslide hit her family's car at Glacier National Park in Montana. The rocks slammed into the car as it was driving Monday night, smashing through the rear windshield. Two other children in the vehicle were injured in the rockslide, as were the teen's parents, the park said in a statement. One witness told CBS News she heard a woman "frantically screaming" after the rocks hit the car. "I could clearly hear a woman crying, frantically screaming, you know, 'Please help her.
