UPDATE: Jennifer Coleman grew up in Roanoke County, attended North Cross School, and graduated from Virginia Tech before earning a law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. She works as the Director of Compliance and Enforcement at the Virginia Department of Health, according to The AWARE Foundation president, Kenny Jarels.

Search teams are looking for a missing 34-year-old Virginia woman whose vehicle was found parked atop a mountain pass at Glacier National Park, officials said Friday.

Jennifer Lee Coleman of Richmond, Virginia is believed to have left on a solo hike in the Logan Pass area early this week.

She was last heard from via a Monday text message, then failed to pick up her dogs the next day from a boarding facility as scheduled, according to a missing person advisory posted by The AWARE Foundation, an organization that advocates for missing and endangered people.

Colemanā€™s mother is vice president of the Virginia-based group and her father is the treasurer, said AWARE Foundation president Kenny Jarels.

ā€œWeā€™re just shell-shocked right now,ā€ Jarels said. ā€œWeā€™ve seen some miracles that have taken place in some of our cases....Weā€™re going to remain positive.ā€

Colemanā€™s belongings were found at her campsite at the West Glacier KOA campground by sheriffā€™s deputies who were conducting a welfare check, said Glacier spokesperson Brandy Burke. Searchers started looking for Coleman Wednesday.

She is described as five-feet-six-inches tall and approximately 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information or who may have seen Coleman hiking was asked to call 406-888-7077.
