Derek Carr adds running threat for Raiders this season
In Gruden’s first stint with the team, Rich Gannon had great success as a scrambler, ranking fourth among all quarterbacks from 1999-2001 with 1,058 yards rushing. He also lowered his shoulder and took a big hit fighting for extra yards on another run. “I feel like as a football fan, whenever the quarterback does that kind of stuff, it pumps the whole sideline up,” Carr said. And Carr has made the most of his runs, turning them into nine first downs — including eight in his past four games. He believes that threat will open up more opportunities for big plays throwing off scrambles if defenses start playing him to run.
Carr, Raiders overcome windy, wintry weather to down Browns

Jacobs finished with a career-high 128 yards — 80 in the second half — on 31 carries. The Raiders appeared to take the lead earlier in the second quarter when Carr connected with Henry Ruggs III in the back right corner of the end zone from 11 yards. Las Vegas settled for Carlson's 29-yard field goal to tie it 3-3. INJURIESRaiders: Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst was carted off in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.
Carr helps Raiders snap Chiefs' 13-game win streak, 40-32
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Rashad Fenton, right, breaks up a pass intended for Las Vegas Raiders fullback Alec Ingold, left, during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, in Kansas City. But he was simply spectacular with a relatively quiet 17,000 fans in the building, helping to guide the Raiders to their first win in Kansas City since Oct. 28, 2012. There wasn't nearly the same amount of offense in the second half — especially out of Kansas City. Jeff Heath intercepted Mahomes on fourth down a few minutes later, and Jacobs helped to seal the win for Las Vegas. Las Vegas is off before facing the Buccaneers on Oct. 25.
