Lynchburg Water Resources has initiated Pure Pipe Lynchburg, a multi-year program to comply with EPA regulations requiring the removal of lead service lines by 2037. The city submitted its initial inventory of service line materials in 2024 and is sending notifications to customers with lead, galvanized, and unknown service lines as part of this effort.
