At Sundance, pandemic dramas unfold on screen and off

Documentary Competition at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Soon, the principal is heard over the loudspeaker — an announcement that would signal not just the scuttling of prom and graduation ceremonies, but, potentially, Nicks’ film. Even in an independent film world predicated on a can-do spirit, the results — including “Homeroom,” “How It Ends” and “In the Same Breath” — are often striking for their resourcefulness. It turned out, much to our amazement, that our submissions were only slightly down," said Tabitha Jackson, director of the Sundance Film Festival, on Thursday. And Wang started working with 10 cinematographers in China to capture the yawning gap between party propaganda and reality.

"I love going to shows, I love live music.”For performers, he also wants to create great memories. It's a switch from the music he said he's always writing and working on. Olivia Wilde says she doesn't think "Richard Jewell" reporter traded sex for tips

Actress Olivia Wilde on Thursday defended her portrayal of journalist Kathy Scruggs in Clint Eastwood's controversial new film "Richard Jewell." "Contrary to a swath of recent headlines, I do not believe that Kathy 'traded sex for tips,'" Wilde wrote. Scruggs broke the story that the FBI was investigating Jewell, whose reputation was then tarnished by negative press coverage. In her Thursday thread, Wilde said that her previous comments on the film had been "lost in translation." "Kathy Scruggs was a modern, independent woman whose personal life should not detract from her accomplishments."

Delta brings back same-sex scenes in Booksmart,' Rocketman' to flights

(CNN) - Delta Air Lines says in-flight versions of the films "Booksmart" and Elton John's biopic "Rocketman" will no longer skip same-sex love scenes. Delta staffers typically pick between original and edited versions of the films offered by the studios or third-party vendors. Delta chose to use the edited versions of "Booksmart" and "Rocketman," but the staffers didn't realize they would be omitting content "well within" the airline's guidelines," Delta said. The airline didn't edit or asked for any edits to the films, said Delta spokesman Adrian Gee. Gee said new versions of the films will be shown in future flights, but the exact date was not available yet.

Delta says will restore same-sex love scenes in 'Booksmart' and 'Rocketman' after criticism

Delta Air Lines is restoring same-sex love scenes in two films after outrage on social media, including from Olivia Wilde, the director of the 2019 comedy 'Booksmart', one of the movies. Delta and other airlines source films from third-party companies that edit and distribute various versions of films for in-flight viewing. The Atlanta-based airline said studios provide the theatrical version and an edited version of many films and that it selected edited versions of both "Booksmart" and Elton John biopic "Rocketman." Delta said it plans to receive new edits of the films "that retains the LGBTQ+ love scenes in both Booksmart and Rocketman that will be on our flights as soon as possible." It is not the first time Delta has been under fire for edits to same-sex love scenes in its on-board movies.
