(AP Photo/Jason DeCrow, File)LOS ANGELES โ€“ Leslie West, an iconic guitarist-vocalist who was behind several '70s rock anthems including โ€œMississippi Queenโ€ with the popular band Mountain, has died. His spokesman Steve Karas said West died Wednesday in Palm Coast, Florida. Karas said West died from cardiac arrest after being rushed to the hospital. West and Pappalardi ended up starting the hard rock band Mountain, which was named after Westโ€™s debut solo album.

Toots Hibbert, beloved reggae star, dead at 77

Hibbert, frontman of Toots & the Maytals, had been in a medically-induced coma at a hospital in Kingston since earlier this month. Hibbert even recorded an album of American hits, โ€œToots In Memphis,โ€ which came out in 1988. Grammy nominations for Hibbert included best reggae album of 2012 for โ€œReggae Got Soulโ€ and best reggae album of 2007 for โ€œLight Your Light.โ€ Hibbert was ranked No. Married to his wife, Doreen, for nearly 40 years, Hibbert had eight children, including the reggae performers Junior Hibbert and Leba Hibbert. Frederick Nathaniel Hibbert ("Toots" was a childhood nickname) was born in May Pen, Parish of Clarendon.
