2nd Arizona county delays certifying election, for now

A second Republican-controlled Arizona county, Mohave, has delayed certifying results of this month's election.

Trump, allies make frantic steps to overturn Biden victory

(AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin)WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump and his allies are taking increasingly frantic steps to subvert the results of the 2020 election, including summoning state legislators to the White House as part of a longshot bid to overturn Joe Biden’s victory. But there has been no evidence of impropriety or fraud in Michigan, election officials have said. But election officials across the country have said repeatedly there was no widespread fraud. In Arizona, the Republican Party is pressuring county officials to delay certifying results. In northwestern Arizona, Mohave County officials postponed their certification until next week.

Trump targets vote certification in late bid to block Biden

In Michigan, two Republican election officials in the state's largest county initially refused to certify results despite no evidence of fraud. The moves don’t reflect a coordinated effort across the battleground states that broke for Biden, local election officials said. Among key battleground states, counties in Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin have all made it through the initial step of certifying results. Across the nation, recounts and court challenges must wrap up and election results must be certified by Dec. 8. Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani argued to stop vote certification in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, the first time he’d been in a courtroom in decades.
