The Newport Volunteer Rescue Squad will host a community blood drive on Friday, Feb. 28, from 1 to 6 p.m. The event will take place at the squad's headquarters located at 418 Blue Grass Trail, Newport, Va. The volunteer organization will receive a $10 donation for every donor.
