Flores' homer off Jansen in 9th rallies Giants past Dodgers

Wilmer Flores hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning and the San Francisco Giants rallied past the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2.

Padres beat Dodgers 5-3 for 1st sweep of rivals in 8 seasons

Trent Grisham drew a go-ahead, bases-loaded walk with one out in the eighth and the San Diego Padres hit three solo homers off Trevor Bauer and beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 for their first three-game sweep of the NL West rivals in eight seasons.

Pujols HR, Dodgers send Diamondbacks to 17th straight loss

Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer and passed Mel Ott for 14th on the career runs list, and the Los Angeles Dodgers extended the Arizona Diamondbacksโ€™ losing streak to 17 games with a 9-8 victory.

Dodgers get HRs from Smith, Pujols in 3-2 win over D-backs

Will Smith hit a tiebreaking, solo home run in the seventh inning, Albert Pujols slugged a two-run shot, his first for the Dodgers, and Los Angeles defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2.

Dodgers blow most of 13-run lead, still outlast Angels 14-11

Mookie Betts drove in a season-high four runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers blew most of a 13-run lead before holding on for a 14-11 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Betts makes diving grab as Dodgers beat Padres 2-0

Mookie Betts made an outstanding diving catch and Clayton Kershaw starred on the mound and at the plate, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers top the San Diego Padres 2-0 in another compelling thriller between the NL West rivals.

Kershaw stops steal of home, hands Dodgers 3-2 Series lead

โ€œI think a lot of credit goes to what heโ€™s been able to do in this World Series for us.โ€Kershaw even prevented the Rays from stealing the tying run. Kershawโ€™s formidable resume has lacked two of the most satisfying achievements: a win deep in the World Series and a championship ring. โ€œKersh, a lot of credit goes to him for what weโ€™ve been able to do in this World Series,โ€ Treinen said. Provided a 3-0 lead, Kershaw allowed Tampa Bay to pull within a run in the third when Kiermaier singled, Yandy Dรญaz tripled on a ball down the right-field line that skipped past Betts and Arozarena singled. He sets records with nine postseason homers allowed and three wild pitches in a Series game, tying a mark with two wild pitches in an inning.

The Latest: Gonzรกlez holds Rays, LA up 4-2 entering 9th

___9:15 p.m.Max Muncy launched a no-doubt homer into the right-field seats, and the Los Angeles Dodgers lead the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 through five innings. It was the first homer of the World Series for Muncy and lifted his batting average to .412. Big right-hander Tyler Glasnow started for the Rays, a rematch of Game 1 when Kershaw and the Dodgers won 8-3. The roof is closed for Game 5, and might not open again during this World Series. It is the second time in the World Series that the retractable roof at the new $1.2 billion stadium is closed for a game.

Parade of pitchers not a merry-go-round for Dodgers

(AP Photo/Eric Gay)ARLINGTON, Texas โ€“ More was not merrier for Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers. By the end of the Dodgersโ€™ 6-4 defeat Wednesday night, which evened the Series at one game apiece, it appeared the Dodgers are down to essentially a two-man rotation of Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw. Alex Wood (six outs) and Jake McGee (three) finished with shutout relief, but the damage yielded by the earlier parade of pitchers was too much to overcome. He would be on track to start a Game 7 on normal rest or Game 6 on three days' rest. It remains to be seen whether this merry-go-round will be a fun ride for Roberts and the Dodgers.

Riley HR in 9th leads Braves past Dodgers 5-1 in NLCS opener

(AP Photo/Eric Gay)ARLINGTON, Texas โ€“ Atlanta Braves fans were still doing tomahawk-chop chants as they filed out of the stadium, real people who replaced the cardboard cutouts players got so accustomed to this season. One game, but a big boost for the Braves in their first National League Championship Series since 2001. โ€œIt was awesome โ€” fun to play in front of fans again,โ€ Braves slugger Freddie Freeman said. Riley became the youngest player with a go-ahead homer in the ninth inning of a postseason game or later since Braves star Chipper Jones in 1995. Dodgers: Kershaw, the ace lefty from nearby Dallas, has 19 strikeouts in his two starts this postseason โ€” both wins.

Yanks' Severino needs Tommy John surgery, will miss season.

Left-hander James Paxton already was projected to miss the first two months of the season following back surgery on Feb. 5. The usual recovery time for Tommy John surgery is a year or more. John Means struck out three in the start for the Orioles, but gave up two earned runs on three hits. Kendall Graveman worked two innings in his return from Tommy John surgery, giving up a hit and a walk. Jesus Luzardo gave up a hit and struck out two over two innings of his start for the A's.
