The Panama-flagged, Japanese-owned ship has been lodged in a single-lane stretch of the canal for nearly a week, holding up $9 billion each day in global trade. The disruption from the Suez Canal blockage is less dramatic but not insignificant. The canal carries over 10% of global trade, including 7% of the worldโs oil. The Suez Canal accounts for 30% of the worldโs daily shipping container freight.

ORIGINAL STORYLynchburg police are searching for a missing senior. William Lee, 70, of Amherst, was last seen on Woodrow Street near Campbell Avenue on Thursday around 1 p.m., according to Lynchburg police. They say he was last seen wearing a baseball cap and mirrored sunglasses with a dark-colored jacket. If you see Lee, police say to call 911 immediately.
