Franklin County business expanding and investing $2.5 million
FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Franklin County business is expanding.
Hometown Ice LLC is investing nearly $2.5 million in the next few years. The company bought the former Weaver Mirror building as part of its expansion and is planning on hiring several more employees.
Hometown Ice started back in 1990s and makes and distributes ice.
"We expanded outside the county," says Doug Arrington, Hometown Ice LLC. "We purchased another ice company a few years ago, but we wanted to bring all that production here and the ice industry."
The company received about $40,000 in grants from Franklin County and the town of Rocky Mount.
