VINTON (WSLS 10) - The 60th Annual Vinton Dogwood Festival kicks off this week and will run through Sunday.
Organizers say the event is expected to draw 25,000 people this year. That's a few thousand more than normal.

Events will take place each each day. Live music and a carnival will be offered throughout the week.
Close to a dozen events are taking place on Saturday, including a 5K and parade. Nearly 100 groups will walk in the parade this year.
High School bands, floats and antique cars will participate. Former William Byrd Band Directors are also being honored in the parade.
