BOTETOURT COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A local man is facing numerous charges after deputies say he threatened another man with a butcher knife then went after him in his vehicle.
The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office says at 5:12 p.m. Saturday, May 9 they were called to an accident along Route 43 near Buchanan. Rescue on scene was speaking with a man who said he was threatened with a butcher knife at a home nearby.

The victim told deputies when he left the home he was chased by the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Darren Patrick Scruggs.
The Sheriff's Office says Scruggs rammed the victim's vehicle once, causing the victim to lose control. The vehicle flipped several times. The victim says he was crawling out of the vehicle when he saw Scruggs coming back.
The victim says he was able to made it out of the vehicle and up the hill just as his vehicle was struck again by Scrugg's vehicle, knocking it further up the road. Deputies say the victim refused medical treatment.
Deputies say the incident was triggered by an alleged domestic situation between Scruggs and his girlfriend, who is a childhood friend of the victim.
Scruggs has been charged with two counts of felony attempted murder, one count of felony hit and run and one count of misdemeanor reckless driving. He was arrested at his residence in Buchanan and is being held without bond in the Botetourt/Craig Counties Regional Jail.
