Investigation underway into sexual assault of minor female at Old Dominion Job Corps

AMHERST COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A sexual assault against a minor female was reported at Old Dominion Job Corps.

The Amherst County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the incident.

Old Dominion Job Corps' website describes the facility as "the nation's largest residential education and vocational training program for the economically disadvantaged youth."

Officers responded to the Old Dominion Job Corps on October 31 regarding the sexual assault complaint. Officers said the incident involved two students and happened onsite between Oct. 30 and 31.

The assault reportedly involved a minor female and 21-year-old Daniel Isaiah Harris, of Hampton. Harris was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy. He was arrested and taken to the Amherst Adult Detention Center where he was held on a $5,000 bond.

The victim was taken to the Lancaster General Health emergency room for treatment and released.
