GALAX (WSLS 10) - Galax Police are investigating after someone caused thousands of dollars in damage to a furniture plant.
Galax Police Captain James Cox says someone broke in to the Vaughn-Bassett plant late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and damaged tanks that store stains, paints and lacquers. He says the tanks and paints are damaged.

Captain Cox says the plant is closed today and it make take several days to clean up.
"I'm not aware of anything like this happening [before]," said Captain Cox.
Police are following up on leads and say it is a very active investigation.
