CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS10) - It's been one week since Nicole Lovell's body was found following the 13 year old's disappearance. On Saturday, the community continued to mourn her loss. Crowds came together for the "Battle of the Burgs", an annual basketball game. This year's event is a memorial game for the teenager.
Both the girls and boys basketball teams from Blacksburg and Christiansburg High battled for bragging rights on the court.

Organizers said a teenager from the Blacksburg High School came up with the idea to raise awareness about Nicole, but also allow the community to grieve.
One student from Blacskburg High School, created t-shirts with a panda which was also Nicole's favorite animal.
Volunteers from Help Save the Next Girl Christiansburg High School Chapter attended the game to promote safety and awareness.
