MARTINSVILLE (WSLS10) - A Martinsville High School student is getting a full ride to Patrick Henry Community College.

Last week, we met senior Olivia Buck when she received a $1,000 scholarship. It was all thanks to the help of Martinsville Police Officer Mark Gilbert, the founder of ‘Cops, Kids and Clothes'. The charity helps kids living in poverty.

Since we first brought you the story, Officer Gilbert said many people have donated money. One donor gave $1,500 to help Buck build a better future.

"It really shows how other people can make dreams happen and I know the donor wants to stay anonymous, but I really appreciate it," said Buck. "It means so much to me."

Buck plans to study physical therapy. She hopes to transfer to Radford University after two years at Patrick Henry Community College.
