WYTHE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - People are without power in Wythe County due to a transformer fire, according to Jeremy Farley, the county's Public Information Officer.

Farley said a transformer caught fire around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Max Meadows Community off Peppers Ferry Road.

He said it will take at least eight to ten hours until the power is restored.

AEP sent a crew to work on getting the power back on.

Farley said six lines off the transformer are affected.
