DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Kare Pharmacy is now officially open in its new location.
Friday, city officials and pharmacy employees cut the ribbon on the new building.
Kare Pharmacy is one of only a handful in the state with the ability to do large scale compounding.
Jay Suthar, the pharmacy's chief operating officer, hopes the expanded facility and the expanded services that the new facility will allow will encourage more people to consider compounding as a way to get their medication.
"If they can't take a medication, then we can turn it into a form that allows them to be able top take it effectively," Suthar explained. "I think if we promote it properly and get people involved in it, they'd be more willing to accept it."
To celebrate the grand opening, the pharmacy will hold a health fair on Saturday from 9-7 p.m., which includes free health and wellness check ups.
