Trump speaks in Fredericksburg, vying for black voters

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) –Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump visited the commonwealth where he continued his latest message for African-American voters.

During his rally in Fredricksburg he encouraged African-Americans to vote for him in November.

He says the GOP is the party of Abraham Lincoln and that he wants the party to become the home for African-American voters again.

This comes after recent polls show him slipping with white voters.

Under new management, Trump also reached out to hispanics and veterans

Trump's visit to the battleground state of Virginia comes after a recent Washington Post poll shows Hillary Clinton with a solid lead over him.

Clinton was off the campaign trail on Saturday .but was working with raising money for a fundraising blitz .featuring 20 events over the next 11 days.
