Search warrants reveal new details about Brittany Freeny's disappearance

Search warraants issued on mans home who was last seen with Freeny

ROANOKE – New search warrants filed in Roanoke City show more details surrounding the disappearance of Brittany Kasey Freeny.

According to family, police identified her body found in Franklin County Wednesday on Murray Knob Road. Brittany Freeny was reported missing on May 1 by her sister.

Her husband who lives out of state confirmed that the womans body found in Franklin County is that of Brittany Freeny. In a statement to WSLS 10 he said, " All I have to say is she was a beautiful person, a loving mother and an awesome friend. she was truly God's Angel and she has returned home. I love you Brittany A.K. Freeny."

According to search warrants, her sister reported her missing after her two children were left unattended, which was “inconsistent with her behavior.” Her sister told police she saw Freeny get into a blue minivan with Lamar Camper at 7 p.m.  It is unclear how Freeny knew Camper or their relationship.

After 7 p.m. her sister told police that Freeny had texted her children stating that she would be home shortly.

Family and police tried contacting Freeny on her cell phone shortly after with no response. That was considered out of the ordinary for Freeny.

According to the warrant, Camper returned to the home “abruptly” to take a shower inside the residence on 707 Hunt Avenue, where he lives with his wife Porsche Ball.

His wife then drove her van and children to her sister's home. The sister told police that she found blood inside the vehicle and smelled bleach.

When the sister questioned Campers wife, the warrant states she told her sister, “it was self-defense.” The sister says she saw no injuries on Lamar Camper. According to the warrant, Ball left the next morning to return home and cannot be reached by police.

The search warrant was used to collect any evidence from Campers home. Items seized by police include swabs, bed clothes, blankets, curtains, clothing and a cell phone.
