BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE: According to his father, William Roberts does suffer from PTSD and suffered two Traumatic Brain Injuries. Police are continuing the search, still calling him armed and dangerous.
Pastor Greg Dixon is from the church across the street from the police command center says many people have reached out, concerned about their safety.  He says that, despite all the circumstances, there will be a church service Sunday morning.
"One of the things that I was lifted up by was ... People saying that they're praying for this man who's being sought." Dixon tells WSLS 10's Magdala Louissaint, "... I was encouraged by that because he's obviously troubled, probably made some poor decisions and those are leading to other poor decisions now. So I've encouraged people that I've been talking to to just pray for our safety of course and the safety for people who are doing their job here."
Police are advising people in the area to remain vigilant as the search for the former marine continues.

UPDATE: Day two of the manhunt for William Roberts continues in Botetourt County. Police were on scene searching until 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The search will now continue through the day. UPDATE: The Botetourt County Sheriff's office set up an operation to try to catch William Roberts. They have a mobile command unit and are also being assisted by state police.

According to our NBC affiiliate in Colorado, KUSA, Roberts is a marine with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Investigators are searching for a man whose last known address was in South Hill, who is now considered armed and dangerous after leading deputies on a chase early Friday morning, officials said.

William J. Roberts, 34, is wanted in Colorado for a felony traffic offense, according to a news release from the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office.

The situation Friday started about 5:30 a.m. when Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle learned that deputies from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office were chasing a stolen vehicle in the North County area, between Eagle Rock and Iron Gate, investigators said.

Botetourt County deputies went to the area to assist, although officials from Alleghany County said they had lost sight of the vehicle in Iron Gate.

At least six Botetourt deputies remained in the area, searching for the stolen car for several hours. They never found the vehicle.

Shortly before 2 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office learned that the suspect from the stolen car might be at a home on Dagger Springs Road, near the community of Gala, investigators said.

Botetourt deputies -- along with state police troopers, a helicopter, Rockbridge deputies and officials from the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries -- went to that home and are still looking for the man, who is now believed to be Roberts.
