Search warrant sheds light on possible Danville stabbing death
Victim identified as Courtney Womack, 34
DANVILLE, Va. – A search warrant is revealing new details about a possible stabbing death in Danville.
According to the warrant, the victim is 34-year-old Courtney Womack.
The warrant says a witness told police Womack went into 627 Holbrook Street on Sept.10, and when he came out he was bleeding through his shirt.
Police responded and found Womack with a stab wound to his abdomen, but he was uncooperative and asked that the case be closed.
According to the warrant, police took DNA swabs from inside the house and pictures of the inside and outside of the house.
Womack died at SOVA Health hospital in Danville two weeks later.
Police are still trying to figure out what happened.
