LYNCHBURG, Va – Liberty University’s dining program is being called one of the best in country.

Over 2000 universities sent in submissions to Daily Meal. They narrowed it down to 75 and Liberty University came in at No. 3. They were graded by the culinary website for its diversity in options, nutrition, sustainability, education, events and community service.

The schools serve a variety of foods and they promote healthy eating. And for the first time this year, they got a new sushi machine after students asked for through a survey.

"It's really incredible all the options they have and no I don't think freshmen 15 can happen, unless you just eat burgers every day. But that's on you so,” sophmore Sarah Brown said.

“It's always nice to get appreciated for those things, but to us, honestly, it’s just us trying to improve year-to-year customer service. How we can best serve our students and our staff here. At the end of the day that's our main focus, but it’s always nice to win an award as well,” Ryan Wheeler, marketing manager for Sodexo at Liberty University, said.

Liberty University dining program has also been ranked No. 1 by bestcolleges.com in 2015 and 2016.
