LYNCHBURG, Va. – A reminder to Hill City community members as it's about that time of the year to recycle your Christmas tree.
Lynchburg officials say for city residents with regular Monday or Tuesday trash collection add Christmas tree collection will take place on Friday, Jan. 12.
And those with regular Wednesday or Thursday trash pickups will have their trees picked up on Jan. 19.
“They grind it up at our location. And our contractors can sell it back as mulch, use it as compost. It’s very environmentally friendly,” Brian Sheffer, refuse associate and crew leader for Lynchburg city, said.
If you want to get rid of your tree before then you can drop it off at different parks in the city until Jan.31.
