When you get your car inspection in January, you might notice the sticker looks different.
If you pass, your sticker will now be green with new additions.

It will have a dogwood tree flower, a holographic state seal and two QR boxes.
The larger one will lead you to the Virginia State Police Division website and the smaller one is for administrative purposes.
According to State Police, this will make it difficult for the stickers to be counterfeited.
“It’s to make them more secure. We always are looking at ways with everything that we do to, you know, make things more secure and more difficult for criminals to potentially misuse and so this was one of those things,” said Matthew Demlein.
The sticker will expire in 2026.
