PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE

Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly crash in Pittsylvania County on Tuesday afternoon.

Shirley Scott, 61, of Milton, N.C. was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry was on Tom Fork Road when it didn’t stop at a stop sign and kept going onto Cane Creek Parkway, where State Police say she hit a tractor-trailer.

Authorities say the impact of the crash caused the Camry and the tractor-trailer to catch fire.

Scott died at the scene, according to State Police. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

State police said one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Pittsylvania County on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at around 12:48 p.m. on Cane Creek Parkway at Morgan Olson Way, according to Virginia State Police.

A car and tractor-trailer crashed, causing both vehicles to catch on fire, according to state police.

The crash remains under investigation.
