Angels of Assisi gearing up to host low-cost vet clinic for the community

They will be offering vaccinations, microchips, nail trims, heartworm test, and wellness checks

ROANOKE, Va. – You can bring your dogs and cats out to the Berglund Center this Saturday for the Angel of Assisi Pet Health Fair.

This is a low-cost vet clinic to help provide affordable pet care to the community.

Angels of Assisi will be offering a variety of services, including vaccinations, microchips, nail trims, heartworm tests and wellness checks. The cost for these services ranges from $5 to $20.

The organization says it sees many people trying their best to care for their pets, but they can’t afford it. Now the organization is stepping in to help.

“This way it keeps people with their pets. So that is really our goal here. We do have our adoption center but we would like to keep people with their pets whenever possible. So that is what we want to do with the event,” said Dayna Reynolds, the Director of Community Engagement for Angels of Assisi.

The event will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will run on a first come first serve basis.

No appointments are necessary and there is no limit to the number of animals you can bring. Each visitor will be gifted a free bag of pet food.
