SALEM, Va. – As Salem High students prepare to head back to the halls, they can also prepare to see some exciting new changes to their school.
On Friday, Salem City Schools unveiled photographs of the newly renovated Salem High School, which they said was a $35 million project.
The renovations have been in the works for years, with 10 News reporting the initial stages of the project back in 2019.
In the summer of 2021, 10 News reported progress on the construction when the school’s main office was demolished to make way for a new two-story addition on the front of the building.
Since then, Salem City Schools said they’ve made changes to the entrance of the school, as well as to different areas of the school’s interior.
If everything continues on track, Salem school leaders said that Salem High’s project is slated to be completed in the later fall months of this year.
