CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – A pedestrian has passed away after being hit by a tractor-trailer in Campbell County, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities said the crash happened on Route 501, or Brookneal Highway, at about 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.

State Police told 10 News that the tractor-trailer was driving near Volunteer Road when he came across a male pedestrian in the travel lane.
Unfortunately, the tractor-trailer was unable to avoid hitting the man, who died at the scene.
