Man dead after pedestrian crash on Roanoke’s Williamson Road near Dollar Tree

ROANOKE – One person is dead after a crash Friday morning (Feb. 17) on Williamson Road, not far from Dollar Tree and the old 7-Eleven, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

Authorities have confirmed to 10 News that a pedestrian was in the road and got hit by a driver going north. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Roanoke Fire-EMS, according to police.

Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. At this time, no charges have been filed.

The crash closed a portion of Williamson Road for about an hour but roads have since reopened.
