Lynchburg men arrested after drugs, guns, more than $7K seized

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Two people have been arrested after the Lynchburg Police Department Violent Crime Response Team (VCRT) seized drugs, more than $7,000, guns, and ammo on Wednesday.

On Wednesday (July 19) at 3:57 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of Forest Brook Road for several men peering into a business and passing around guns, authorities said.

When they got to the scene, LPD said they checked the area, as well as surrounding businesses, and arrested two out of the three people.

Ke’Yonte Harden, 21, was one of the two arrested, according to police. We’re told the following items were in his possession and seized:

  • Approximately 80 pressed Fentanyl Pills
  • $7883 cash
  • A concealed firearm
  • Ammunition

Harden is now facing the following charges, police said:

  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Possession of a firearm in possession of schedule I or ii substance
  • Possession of a concealed weapon by a felon
  • Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
  • False ID to law enforcement

Officers said Harden is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

LPD said 19-year-old Te’Shaun Howell was the second person arrested. He had a concealed weapon and is being charged with concealing a weapon.

It was not immediately clear if a third person is sought in connection with this incident.
