Radford Fire-EMS and the Radford City Police Department were dispatched to a house fire on Custis Street at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officials said first arriving units found smoke was showing from the roof and the rear of the home. After a bystander reported someone was possibly trapped in the basement, crews searched the residence and found no one inside.
Additional personnel with the Snowville Volunteer Fire Department, Fairlawn Fire Department, Pulaski County Squad 9 was requested to assist.
Firefighters cleared the scene in approximately four hours. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
