Radford and Virginia Tech join forces to study The Magic School Bus

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Magic School Bus, a popular kids' book series, is being researched for its blend of fantasy and science education.

Associate professors Matthew Wisnioski and Michael Meindl are exploring how multimedia has transformed science learning.

The project involves reading archival materials and conducting interviews with the show’s multiple creators.

“The Magic School bus shows us that, you know, you can successfully blend entertainment and education in, in one product, you know, and that that can be truly a great way to engage children.”

Michael J. Meindl, associate professor in Radford University’s School of Communication

Wisnioski adds, “Remember to thank the Ms. Frizzle in your life.”
