BLACKSBURG, Va. – We’re months away from prime wedding season, so Sunday was the perfect day for brides-to-be to get a jump on preparations.
They were able to see a number of vendors and ideas during the New River Valley Bridal Expo at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center.
Organizers say they expanded to the New River Valley last year after vendors said there hadn’t been a bridal show in the area.
“We do these shows twice a year because we find that brides are continuously getting engaged whether it’s in the winter or the summertime, and so this is just a great way for us to be able to connect the bride with area vendors.”

Capture It Events also hosts bridal expos in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and now in Richmond.
Cheatham says the prime time for weddings is still typically the summer but she says October is increasingly becoming a popular month.
