ROANOKE, Va. – Police will have an additional presence at the William Byrd campus in Roanoke County on Monday following what officials called “a concerning social media post.”
The Roanoke County Police Department investigated and determined the post targeting the William Byrd campus was not credible, according to a statement from Roanoke County Public Schools. The post originated from out of state.

The school district added in the statement posted on their website, “We thank those who reported this concerning post to school administrators and the police department. We remind parents, students and staff to report anything concerning, no matter how trivial it may seem.”
