The Super Bowl brings plenty of positive headlines -- but some of the less desired ones include driving under the influence.
Last year there were 92 alcohol-related crashes during Super Bowl weekend in Virginia, resulting in 49 injuries and one death. Collectively last year, nearly 4,300 alcohol-related crashes resulted in 273 deaths in Virginia.

“Being on the lookout for drivers that appear to be impaired, maybe they’re weaving from lane to lane, maybe they’re driving erratically,” said Morgan Dean, a spokesperson for AAA Virginia. “We as drivers have got to be very, very careful and stay away from them. Make that call to 911 if they’re a threat to everybody else in the roadway, and try to get them off the road.”
