According to Sweet Briar College officials, the lockdown has now been lifted.

Sweet Briar College in Amherst County is under lockdown Thursday night, according to an emergency alert on the school’s website.
Amherst County Police are on the scene, but did not confirm the reason why the campus was on lockdown. A shelter in place is in effect at this time. Details are limited, but we will continue to update this story with information as we receive it.
