Update:
Roanoke Fire and EMS provided an update on the structure fire that occurred in the 1900 block of Franklin Road SW Thursday morning.

According to officials, first responders were dispatched at 10:34 a.m. to find smoke showing from a commercial building. The call was quickly upgraded to a working fire and crews began attacking the fire.
At 11:22 a.m., the fire was marked under control, and searches for any individuals inside the structure were completed at 11:31 a.m. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Drivers are asked to avoid the 1900 block of Franklin Road in Southwest Roanoke as crews respond to a fire.
The roads are currently blocked to traffic in the area of George’s Flowers, and delays are expected.
