Toyota recalls 6.5M cars for power window problem

WPRI – (WPRI) — Toyota has announced it is recalling at least 6.5 million cars for a power window issue.

The automakers said the switches for the driver's side power windows can short circuit and catch fire.

So far, there have been 11 reports of burnt door trim, and one report of a customer who burned their hand.

The recall includes 2.7 million cars in North America, all made between 2005 and 2010 and include Toyota's Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tundra and Sequoia models, among others.

Some Scion models are also included in the recall.
